VIRAL Oxtail McPatty Recipe🇬🇾

Welcome to another video recap, where I share tips, and secret recipes so YOU can become a chef from home! This week I collaborated with Dat of Datz Deli NYC to create an oxtail macpatty. What is an oxtail macpatty you ask? Well, you’re about to find out!

Let’s get to it!

<Datz Deli Oxtail MacPatty>

This bite was surprisingly not heavy…just savory goodness!

Today we’re making an oxtail macpatty which consists of Guyanese style braised oxtail, macaroni and a Jamaican beef patty between a soft and fluffy butter flop.

Today chef is Dat’s father. Datz Deli Family comes from Guyana, a South American county with a diverse ethnic history and cuisine. Some of these include Creole, East Indian, African, Portuguese, Amerindian, Chinese and European influences. This diverse culinary history combines to create some of the most unique and flavorful dishes. We’re ready to share all the secrets to this viral dish.

Summary and Introduction:

<Recipe>

  1. First thing is to cook the oxtail as it takes the longest. In a large pot add vegetable oil and infuse it with thyme and cinnamon sticks.

  2. Blend thyme, cilantro, ginger, celery, parsley, scallion, onion, garlic, hot peppers, to make the secret green sauce.

  3. Add secret green sauce, largely chopped bell peppers, cilantro, and more chopped onions into the pot to sweat out.

  4. After 5-10 minutes, add little bit of brown sugar to caramelize.

  5. Add any commercially available jerk seasoning, adobo powder, cayenne pepper powder, bay leaves, salt, dried thyme, black pepper, and add soy sauce and Worcestershire sauce to taste.

  6. Add your oxtail and roast them in the pot.

  7. After the oxtails develop some coloring, add tomato sauce and braise them on low heat for 3 hours.

  8. Next, start on the mac and cheese by boiling a desired amount of macaroni in beef stock, cayenne pepper powder, black peppers, adobo, and adobo con sazón.

  9. Then add secret green sauce. Mix well.

  10. When the macaroni is fully cooked, add cheddar and mozzarella cheese, condensed milk, and cream cheese until the macaroni becomes thick and cheesy.

    Such a cheesy bite🧀

  11. Time to assemble everything. Open up your butter flop and stack Jamaican beef patty, macaroni, and braised oxtail(only the meat). Add a drizzle of the oxtail gravy all over the sandwich.

    That oxtail gravy was something else.

  12. Enjoy!
